With expansive views of San Diego Bay and downtown, the Point Loma Spanish Colonial Residence comprises 4,106 S.F. of interior living space with an additional 1,022 S.F. of exterior covered patios and porches.
The owners purchased the existing historic Spanish Colonial residence with the intent to fully remodel the home inside & out, and restore the home to the historic grandeur of the early 1900’s. Throughout construction the emphasis was to stay as true to the historic Spanish Colonial period as possible. No detail was overlooked. Can lights and cabinet lights were eliminated because they did not exist in the early 1900’s. Period cast iron grills were used for HVAC vents. Each bathroom in the residence is a different color theme comprised of tile and period fixtures. Every item and product that went into the residence was thoroughly researched and vetted to match the period and style of the original residence. The architecture and details are further enhanced by the antique period furniture and art. As you walk through the residence, the experience becomes uniquely similar to walking through a museum.
The Point Loma Spanish Colonial Residence has become a cherished relic of the San Diego vernacular, and will represent traditional Spanish Colonial Style for generations to come. BGI Architecture is proud to have been involved in the renovation of such a special building.
